Denise Shearin is a highly regarded professional auctioneer, and one of only a handful of African-Americans in the business. In July 2007 the National Auctioneers Association (NAA) named her Women’s International Auctioneer Champion. Denise is a NAA Certified Estate Specialist (CES) and a candidate for the Accredited Auctioneer [of] Real Estate (AARE) and Certified Auctioneer Institute (CAI) designations. The CAI designation is the most prestigious and highly-coveted designation awarded in the auction industry.
As a first generation auctioneer, Denise graduated with honors from the Texas Auction Academy. She has successfully bundled her fundraising, real estate, and auctioning acumen to specialize in conducting benefit/charity and real estate auctions. The much sought after auctioneer works with organizations to maximize revenue generation through nationwide events. She has also sold residential and commercial properties valued in the millions of dollars.
In 2006 a panel of judges appointed by the NAA voted Denise one of the top seven female auctioneers internationally. Her accomplishments continued that year as she became the leading female auctioneer in the state of Maryland. Denise has received accolades from auction industry veterans and clients as she gets consistent sales results using her smooth and rhythmic auctioneer’s chant, as well as her eloquence, poise, and professionalism.
In its December 2007 issue, trendy entertainment and lifestyle magazine Sister 2 Sister profiled Denise in its popular “Who Does She Think She Is?!” section. Denise was also featured on the National Public Radio “Tell Me More” segment with Michel Martin and Nashville’s top-rated Talk of the Town morning show.
Denise serves on the NAA’s National Association of REALTORS® advisory board whose mission is to bring auctioneers and REALTORS® together in the real estate industry through the exchange of information, education, and resources.
Denise is owner of Tapesin Realty & Auction Solutions, LLC which uses accelerated marketing techniques to expediently liquidate assets for individuals and commercial entities. Tapesin’s professional auction and consulting services are available to clients nationally.
Denise earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Insurance from Howard University. Following graduation, a passion for computers eventually led to her becoming an accomplished programmer and database administrator. Denise Shearin is a member of the National Auctioneers Association, Auctioneers Association of Maryland, National Association of REALTORS®, and Toastmasters International.
The lifelong Maryland resident enjoys being with her family, singing, playing the piano, and reading during her downtime.
